Swimming

The Junior and Prep School swimming team participated in two league galas in the first term, finishing in 2nd and 3rd places. The highlight of the season was the Inter-House gala which took place in March.  The Junior School children swam first, and at the end of their section, St Francis was in the lead, with St. Georges lying 2nd and St. Margarets 3rd.  In the Prep and College section, St. Margarets and St Georges fought hard to catch St. Francis.  However, St. Francis held onto the lead, to win with a total of 557 points, ahead of   St Margarets with 501 points and St. Georges with 424 points.

St Francis took both the House and Spirit Trophies and we congratulate all their swimmers and supporters.  The Junior Victrix Ludorum was shared by Claire du Toit and Skye Sheerin and the Junior Victor Ludorum was André Flores.The Senior Victrix Ludorum was Shireen Sapiro and the Senior Victor Ludorum was Brenden Crawford.  Brenden broke an amazing four records.  Claire and Sky each broke one and Savannah Sheerin broke two.  Congratulations to these swimmers.

The Junior School held their very first “Fun Gala” and as the name suggests, great fun was had by all.  All the children in the Early Learning Centre and Junior School took part, and those unable to swim unaided each had their own Grade 7 swimmer to help them.  It was a very enjoyable morning and we say “well done!” to all our little swimmers.
