security of
grounds

Security and safety of our learners, staff, residents and visitors has always been one of our fundamental priorities at Bishop Bavin School. Thanks to the vision of our Rector, Father Ellis, we are proud to say that we always plan ahead in our steps to keep everyone safe at our school.

For the past year Bishop Bavin has upgraded all the equipment for the security guards at our school. The school has recently installed cameras throughout the compound thus making it easier to have control over the entrance and exit of our premises. Our heartfelt thanks go to Mr David Strange and the PTSA who always go the extra mile to help us.

During this year, prior to the visit of Umalusi, we received a visit from the Health and Security Inspector. Bishop Bavin School was rated 97% when it came to safety and security. This was the first time a school in South Africa has ever been given such a high rating.
One of the criteria during the Umalusi visit was to check our policies on Safety and Security. These policies and the implementation thereof highly impressed the inspector.

During this year Bishop Bavin School also had fire drills for the whole school, in order to educate learners and staff as to what to do case of emergencies.

The Safety and Security Department will continue to make our school a place where everyone is safe,  a new security company has come on board and we are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them.

Thank you to all the parents for their support and help during this year.

Last but not least, I would like to express my gratitude to Father Ellis for all his blessings and wisdom and also to Mr Greg Ellis for all his invaluable support and encouragement.
