Exam Procedures

1. NO suitcases, bags, notes or books to be taken into the exam venue.
2. All cellphones must be marked with your name, be switched off and handed in, in the box at the door.
3. NO cellphones, MP3 players, walkmans or any other electronic devices may be on the person once inside the exam venue.
4. NO programmable calculators or any translators may be used during exams.
5. Learners must be seated in absolute silence once inside the venue.
6. Learners may not borrow equipment/stationary from each other.
7. NO form of communication during the exams between any learners.
8. Learners must remain in absolute silence when papers are being taken in.
9. NO learner may leave the exam venue before the time has expired.
10. Learners must read the instructions on the exam papers carefully and must comply with those instructions.
11. Learners must check their exam papers to ensure they have been issued with the correct paper (subject) and the correct grade.
12. Learners must obey the instructions of the invigilator.
13. Learners may not create a disturbance or behave in an improper or unseemly manner.
14. NO explanation of examination questions may be asked or given after reading time.
15. All work, including rough work, must be done on the paper provided. NO drawing or writing of anything unconnected with the exam may be done on the answer scripts.
16. NO learner may be absent without a doctor’s certificate. Please also phone the school to inform us when you are absent.
17. When the invigilator declares that the time has expired, learners must stop writing immediately and obey the instructions of the invigilator.
18. NO learner may arrive late in the exam venue.
19. NO learner may be in possession of any unauthorised material or unauthorised objects in the exam venue.
20. NO learner may leave or insert any unauthorised material in his or her answer book.

SHOULD A LEARNER ARRIVE LATE THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE IS TO BE
FOLLOWED

1. The learner must wait outside until all papers have been handed out and checked.
2. The learner will be admitted into the exam venue by the invigilator and be given the exam paper.
3. NO extra time will be afforded in the case of late-comers.

PROCEDURES TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE CASE OF IRREGULARITY

1. Confiscate all “auxiliary notes/texts” and draw a clear line through work done up until that specific point, and sign. Take in this paper and issue fresh
3. paper.
2. The learner may then continue with the rest of the exam.
3. The leaner, together with all examination material, must be taken to the Deputy Head at the end of the exam.
