A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

It is with pride that I assume the position as Chairman of the Board of Governors.

It has been my privilege to serve on the Board for the last twenty years.

It has been a great honour in these years to serve under Lance Japhet, the outgoing Chairman of the Board, and I am pleased to report that Lance Japhet has been made Honorary Life Vice-Chairman of our Board. This confirms the great respect all of us have for Lance and the work he has achieved over the last twenty years. Bishop Bavin certainly attests to and applauds the vision he and Father Ellis had for the establishment of the school.

I have a vision for the school to complete the work started by Lance. This year we launch, with great excitement, the Choir School. This is a wonderful development which certainly attests to the growth and dynamism of Bishop Bavin. It is our intention to enlarge the Board with new members who represent South Africa in all fields.

This dynamic Christian school deserves the very best and it is my hope that we as a Board can accomplish. I shall, during the course of this year, be calling a meeting of all parties to share with them our vision for the future.

My thanks goes to everyone who has contributed to this outstanding magazine. Once again, it reflects the great traditions established in the past and gives us a vision for the future.
