When I approached the Rector and asked him if some of the Old boys could use the fields on a Sunday morning for a little kick about, I never imagined that it would have turned out the way it has. We have sixteen Old Bavinians and associated members weekly, and the relationships have not stopped at Sunday soccer, as we all watch big sporting events together now and even do business amongst each other.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, Bishop Bavin instilled some amazing core values in each of us, as we look out for one another, help out were we can and treat each other like family.

I would like to conclude with a quote which I find fits what the Old Bavinians want to achieve; quote from J.F. Kennedy, inaugural speech : “All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Nor will it be finished in the first 1,000 days, nor in the life of this administration, nor even perhaps in our lifetime on this planet. But let us begin.”
