Coach
Coalition of Anglican Children’s Homes

New paths are made by walking and how true this is of Bishop Bavin. The vision, the creative energy has made it possible for a new generation of young people to take their rightful place in this extraordinary country of ours.

However, as it created new paths it also honoured the legacy of what had gone on before. St George’s Home had been established to address the challenge of providing a sound education for young white boys of impoverished backgrounds. Times changed and the imperative was not only to address the needs of some young people but of all young people. And, like Bishop Bavin, St George’s Home rose to the challenge and began to tread new paths by working within the surrounding communities.

This beautiful property is shared by these two institutions - the school and the Coalition of Anglican Children’s Homes (COACH) that incorporates St George’s Home. Another part of the original property is shared by St George’s village offering a different ministry to an older generation with different needs at their time in life. However, all are drawn together by a common vision and commitment to serve others for the greater glory of God.

The strength of the relationship between Bishop Bavin and COACH has also made it possible for our common legacy to be more widely known. In this regard I would like to pay tribute to Fr Morgan Ellis and all his staff for the support and assistance we receive. It is a privilege to be part of a network that dances with the angels and knows that these institutions are truly part of God’s work.

With every blessing for the future.
