Chapel

We have the privilege of being at one of God’s schools. It is a school that has God’s hand of blessing over it.

This year we have watched as God has gently touched the lives of many learners wooing them into a deeper relationship with him. Love, joy and peace have flowed out of their lives and touched the lives of those around them.

God blesses our worship so that many encounter him in Chapel. So often we hear learners saying that we are not just singing. It is something more than that. On occasions God allows tears to flow so that healing comes. As the Body and Blood of Christ are received in Holy Communion so many are grateful and feel the depth of Jesus’ love as He gave his life for us.

We have many opportunities to come together in chapel. Some are in our regular services, others in the special services of our Church Calendar like Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter Sunday, Pentecost and Corpus Christi. Still others focus in on the life of our school: Matric Mass and Grade 8 Bell Ceremony, Mothers’ Day, St. Francis Day with the Blessing of the Pets and our Service of Nine Lessons and Carols.

God is growing us in al the occasions when we meet together outside of chapel. In the Prep School Bible Study, Open Up and especially in the Confirmation Classes. At our Confirmation Camp this year one third of the Grades 10-12 joined us. Many witnessed a deeper experience of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit than ever before in their lives. Sometimes, at school, you will also find learners praying with each other. Many times you will find them supporting each other and caring for each other.
We have also witnessed God’s provision for us in material and financial ways that remind us that Jesus is Lord at Bishop Bavin School, St Georges.
