BISHOP BAVIN MATRIC RESULTS 2015

BISHOP BAVIN MATRIC RESULTS 2015

It is with great pleasure that we announce a 100% pass rate for the matric class of 2015. All 32 of the candidates who wrote the final Independent Examination Board (IEB) exams were successful, with 56% of them achieving a degree pass, which enables them to go on to study at university. A further 41% achieved a diploma pass, giving them access to tertiary education.

This is a great achievement by the learners, and we would like to extend our heartiest congratulations to each one of them.  We are proud of the achievements of the Class of 2015. Learners have again shown that with a commitment to hard work over their 12 years of schooling and, supported by a dedicated team of teachers and parents, they have achieved the first major milestone in their learning careers.

Bishop Bavin matriculants achieved 26 subject distinctions (over 80%), with Life Orientation, English Home Language, Business Studies, Mathematics and Maths Literacy the subjects in which they particularly excelled.

MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE HEADMASTER

Bishop Bavin School is one of the hidden gems in independent schooling in Johannesburg’s eastern suburbs. This charming, Anglican school, which caters for children from crèche right through to grade 12, is located on the grounds of the former St George’s Home for Boys in Bedfordview. The Herbert Baker architecture and beautiful gardens provide a secluded haven for this intimate co-educational school. We provide a positive and nurturing environment which leads to confident, enthusiastic learners with the maturity to become role models within the community in which they live.

Bishop Bavin School is a multi-cultural, independent, co-ed boarding and day school in Bedfordview, catering for learners from 3 months – grade 12. We provide a positive and nurturing environment which leads to confident, enthusiastic learners with the maturity to become role models within the community in which they live.

Our school is small enough to care about individual needs, yet we are large enough to excel in academic, sporting and cultural fields.

Bishop Bavin School is an Anglican church school, however a church-going background is not a prerequisite for entry. Every learner and family must demonstrate the highest regard for, and fully support, our Christian values, especially those of honesty and integrity.

Learning at Bishop Bavin is truly a holistic experience which provides each learner with firm grounding for an outstanding future.
